What does Led Zeppelin have in common with sculpture? For me last weekend it was Knebworth. In 1979 I had the privilege to enjoy the first of two concerts by Led Zeppelin at Knebworth. What nobody could know was that we were witnessing the last concerts with John Bonham on the drum kit. After John Bonham died Led Zeppelin stopped recording and aside from a poor show at Live Aid would not perform live again until 2007. When they have performed it was with Jason Bonham on the drums.
So 35 years later I found myself again at Knebworth enjoying the gardens and an exhibition of sculpture. A bit quieter and less crowded than my previous visit. I could almost hear Stairway to Heaven.
